The garden gathering 2024

A warm August evening and the best company. As is now the tradition, our laureates, patrons and other supporters of science met informally in the Vratislav Garden. We thank everyone who accepted the invitation to our garden gathering.

The evening was opened by the co-founder and director of the Neuron Foundation Monika Vondráková. In her speech she mentioned the successes Neuron has had over the past year — among other things the transformation from an endowment fund into a foundation and the newly established cooperation with the company Notino.

"Notino has had a really successful year and was looking for somewhere to invest its money. In the end Neuron won. I would like to thank Notino for deciding to support us and to stand by us," the foundation's director summed up.

Among the Neuron Foundation's other successes she mentioned an invitation from the ambassador to Sweden Anita Grmelová to a meeting with private foundations there, where Neuron can take inspiration from the world leaders in supporting science.

The rest of the evening was in the spirit of journeys in search of scientific knowledge. Last year's Neuron Expedition In Search of the Lost Mayan City handed the baton to the team of Marek Audy, who with his expedition will set off in the autumn for the border of Greece and Albania to confirm the discovery of the largest underground thermal lake. The cheque for 988 thousand was received by the Neuron Expedition Atmos from the naturalist, traveller, painter and writer Jan Dungel.

The Neuron Foundation's garden gathering took place on 27 August 2024 in the Vratislav Garden thanks to a partnership with the company Accredio. The pleasant evening was complemented by wines from the wine and spirits marketplace Vinisto. For the refreshments we thank Bageterie Boulevard and for the floral decoration the company Kytky od Pepy.
