Nominate outstanding scientists for the Neuron Awards 2025

The Neuron Foundation is opening nominations for the Neuron Awards 2025. We are looking for exceptional scientists who leave an international legacy and for scientists whose work is a strong promise for the future. An award will also go to a company for transferring science into business.

Nominations are open until 31 March 2025.

Scientists, researchers and academics or research organisations, commercial entities and investors may nominate scientists for a Neuron Award. The nominations will be evaluated by Neuron's scientific council, and we will present the prestigious awards to the new laureates at a gala evening in January.

Thank you to everyone who helps us find the best names in Czech science.

You can nominate laureates in 3 categories:

The main Neuron Award 2025

The award may go to scientists working in the Czech Republic or abroad who through a discovery or long-term work have fundamentally contributed to the development of science, strengthened the name of Czech science internationally and are an inspiration to other members of the scientific community.

The laureate receives a personal premium of CZK 1,500,000.

The Neuron Award for promising scientists

We present the award in seven fields (biology, chemistry, computer science, physics, mathematics, medicine and the social sciences) to talented scientists who obtained their PhD no more than ten years before the nominations were announced.

The award comes with a financial premium of CZK 500,000.

The Neuron Award for connecting science and business

The award goes to an exceptional achievement through which a scientific result moved from academia into the commercial sphere, for instance by way of a patent, a sale, the transfer of know-how, the founding of a spin-off company and so on.
