The Neuron Foundation distances itself from Karel Janeček's statements

The scientific council and board of the Neuron Foundation disagree with, and distance themselves from, Karel Janeček's public and media statements on covid-19, which deny scientific evidence and in particular play down the course of the disease in children.

Our mission is to support evidence-based science that leads to improving lives and in which there is no place for unfounded opinions, ideologies or conjecture. We are independent of the actions or views of any particular person.

Karel Janeček's media activity, in which he mentions the Neuron Foundation, has recently increased. On this the board states that Mr Janeček does not decide anything about the foundation and has no influence over how it is run. He is merely its historical founder and, until this year, one of dozens of patrons. His views are his private ones and, in the case of vaccination, are in stark contradiction with the knowledge of the best scientists we work with.

Given his statements, further cooperation between the Neuron Foundation and Karel Janeček is not possible.
