The promising young biologist Marek Brousil

The most recent junior scientist whose wish Neuron is fulfilling is Marek Brousil, who impressed the foundation in 2016 with a presentation of his own project on the anatomy and physiology of the buds of woody plants, which he worked on in his free time.

"The award I received from you was absolutely decisive for my 'career' so far and gave me an incredible boost forward. At the moment, thanks to this award, I am helping at the department of experimental surgery at the Biomedical Centre of the Faculty of Medicine of Charles University in Pilsen, where I am also writing another scientific paper. I am tied here to a fairly full schedule for the Winter Workshop of Visceral Surgery currently under way, where I help with organisation, teaching and operations."
