A Czech scientific team has achieved an extraordinary success in geological research. In southern Albania, in the Vromoner area, the Neuron Atmos Expedition has revealed the world's largest underground thermal lake.

The Neuron Foundation supported this expedition financially with CZK 988,000 and thereby made it possible to acquire the key equipment that led to confirmation of this globally significant discovery.

In honour of the foundation, the lake was named Neuron.

The expedition's leader Marek Audy and his team were guests on ČT24's Hyde Park, where they discussed this discovery of global significance in detail.

The programme was broadcast on 9 February 2025 and can be watched at this link.
