New experience and a new culture: we are opening internships in Israel
Travel to Israel and see how top-class science is done. The Neuron Foundation and the IOCB Tech Foundation are opening a new edition of the Czech-Israeli Innovation Internship scholarship programme. This year it offers a unique opportunity for Czech and Israeli students alike: the internships will run simultaneously, so students from the Czech Republic will fly to Israel and vice versa.
The programme is a superb chance for anyone who wants to gain experience abroad and bring new ideas into Czech science. Participants will take part in research in Israel itself. That will give them the chance to see the local approach to transferring science into business and a glimpse of how an innovative research environment works. It is therefore a unique chance to gather valuable experience and bring it back to the Czech Republic.
"I am delighted at how our programme of Czech-Israeli student internships is developing. In the first two years we sent Czech students to Israel, last year we invited Israeli students to the Czech Republic, and this year we plan to combine the two. Czech students will thereby gain a unique opportunity to get to know the Israeli innovation environment more closely and to make contacts they can build on in future," says Barbara Eignerová, chair of the board of the IOCB Tech Foundation.
About the programme
Czech-Israeli Innovation Internships is a grant programme run by the Neuron Foundation and the IOCB Tech Foundation in cooperation with the First Faculty of Medicine of Charles University and the Czech-Israeli Chamber of Commerce, and with the support of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Israel and the Embassy of the State of Israel in the Czech Republic.
The programme is intended for Czech students from the third year of a bachelor's degree to the start of a doctoral programme, in all fields.
"The programme offers students direct access to prestigious Israeli universities and their outstanding professors. During a stay of up to two months they gather valuable experience that often helps set the direction of their future career," is how the director of the Neuron Foundation Monika Vondráková sums up the programme's benefits.
The programme has been running successfully since 2022 and brings students new opportunities every year.
