We invite you to a conference on connecting science in the Czech Republic and abroad

An afternoon full of lectures, discussions and connecting awaits you. The Neuron Endowment Fund is a partner of the event, which this year will focus on connecting science in the Czech Republic and abroad.
This year's edition of the by now traditional Conference under the Christmas Tree will be devoted to the theme of connecting science in the Czech Republic and abroad. We will discuss "live", but also online, so that czexpats who stay abroad for Christmas can take part too. Registration for offline attendance is open until 12 December or until capacity is filled, so don't hesitate!
The central theme of this year's conference is connecting science in the Czech Republic and abroad. What is there to look forward to?
The programme will open with a keynote lecture by Jiří Zavadil, who in France studies the influence of the environment and lifestyle on the emergence of cancer, but who has long cooperated with the Czech Republic.
The second keynote speaker will be Kateřina Čapková, who used her experience abroad to establish in the Czech Republic the previously non-existent field of modern Jewish history.
The panel discussion "How to connect Czech and international science" will be opened by the president of the Czech Academy of Sciences Eva Zažímalová. Sharing their experience will then be: Marcela Buchtová, Matyáš Fendrych, Linda Štucbartová and Štěpán Jurajda.
We will network physically over coffee and online in gather.town.
New this year are scientific posters and short flash talks. Topics such as the possibilities of returning to the Czech Republic, working in the private sector or communicating science will also be debated at round tables.
Who is the conference for?
The conference takes place in Czech and is intended above all for Czech scientists working abroad, but also for Czech scientists who have already returned from abroad — because it is precisely their stories that can be a great inspiration,
Czech scientists who are only preparing to go abroad — because they are the future czexpats, but at this moment they may have plenty of questions to which they can find answers at the conference,
students who are currently studying a bachelor's or master's programme abroad — because they too can swell the ranks of czexpats,
representatives of institutions that take part in connecting Czech and international science — because they are the ones who can help.
