The administrative and scientific boards of the Neuron Endowment Fund met and approved the plan for 2022

News from the endowment fund, the future form of the Neuron Awards and further cooperation with young scientists. At their meeting on Tuesday 11 January 2022 the administrative and scientific boards assessed the past year, welcomed new members and addressed current projects.

"The Neuron Endowment Fund has a new guarantor for the field of physics — Professor Tomáš Jungwirth. After five years he replaced Pavel Jelínek, whom we thanked for his outstanding work for Neuron," says Monika Vondráková, chair of the administrative board.

Monika Vondráková went on to sum up the successes of 2021. The Neuron Endowment Fund presented the Neuron Awards to outstanding scientists and held a debate with them, two Neuron Online Clubs for the public on the subject of covid-19 took place, along with two Neuron Clubs for a closed company of scientists and patrons on the subject of leadership in history and of scientific transfer. In the autumn the Neuron Expedition Dzamba Ya Lobi took place, and the fund also supported the Junior Scientific Conference and Transfera Technology Day.

Another subject of the meeting was the Neuron Awards, which we will announce in January, with the new laureates to be selected in May. "We talked about the format of the awards, suitable candidates and the ceremony," Monika Vondráková adds. She also presented to the board a forthcoming novelty, cooperation between Czech students and Israeli universities and scientific institutions, which Neuron wants to bring about this year.
