The board of the Neuron Endowment Fund has confirmed the 2021 Neuron Award laureates

The guarantors of the scientific councils have approved the nominations the Neuron Endowment Fund received from the academic and scientific community. The meeting confirmed the format of this year's awards — three Neuron Awards for contribution to world science and seven Neuron Awards for young promising scientists will be presented. The ceremony will take place on 28 September 2021, the Day of Czech Statehood.

"I am very glad that after a year and a half we were able to meet in person and that the awards ceremony will take place as we have been used to in recent years," says Monika Vondráková, founder of the Neuron Endowment Fund. "We will celebrate Czech science and the stories of women and men in science once again, and we will meet again at a gala evening whose form we are preparing right now," she reveals.

The meeting of the patrons and of the administrative and scientific boards took place on 28 May 2021 in the IOCB building, where Monika Vondráková also gave information about this year's other projects. In May the endowment fund gave financial support to another expedition to Congo, it is preparing a continuation of the Neuron Club discussion platform and in the autumn it will build on its earlier cooperation with young scientists.
