The pandemic: facts and the immediate outlook
An invitation to an exclusive discussion between scientists.

Contradictory information is currently circulating in society. We feel that more than ever we need the observations and views of leading scientists who will help us find our bearings in the current situation and prepare for the coming days. We will focus on the short-term outlook, the prospects for vaccination, the effects on mental health and what to do about them.
Prof. Neil Stahl, co-founder of the company Regeneron, which developed the antibody cocktail REGN-COV2, will join us exclusively and will focus in the debate on the prospects for vaccines.

physician Ladislav Machala
Prof. MUDr. Ladislav Machala, Ph.D. studied medicine at Charles University. He works at the AIDS centre of the Bulovka Hospital and lectures on infectious diseases at the Third Faculty of Medicine of Charles University.
epidemiologists Petr Smejkal and Rastislav Maďar
MUDr. Petr Smejkal has long worked in internal and infectious medicine; he currently works at IKEM in Prague as chief epidemiologist and, since 2008, also part-time in the USA on the coast of Maine at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital.
Doc. MUDr. Rastislav Maďar, Ph.D., MBA, FRCPS is a Slovak epidemiologist, a specialist in travel medicine and head of the Institute of Epidemiology and Public Health Protection of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Ostrava.
economist Julie Chytilová
Doc. PhDr. Julie Chytilová Ph.D. received the Neuron Award for scientists under 40 in 2011. She is behind research into the connections around mental health. She works at the Institute of Economic Studies of Charles University and at CERGE-EI.
economist Jakub Steiner
Mgr. Jakub Steiner, Ph.D. works on theoretical economics, above all game theory. He looks for the causes that triggered the economic crisis in the United States and Europe in recent years. Since September 2011 he has worked at CERGE-EI. He is a laureate of the Neuron Award for young scientists in the social sciences.
The parasitologist Prof. Julius Lukeš, a member of the Neuron Foundation's scientific council, will also join the debate and will link up with Prof. Neil Stahl, co-founder of Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, which developed the antibody cocktail REGN-COV2.
The debate is hosted by the biochemist and member of the Neuron Foundation's scientific council Doc. Jan Konvalinka and by Monika Vondráková, co-founder of the Neuron Foundation.
