Neuron at a performance of The Elegance of the Molecule

On Sunday 10 June 2018 we invited our existing patrons, supporters and friends to a staging of P. Zelenka's play The Elegance of the Molecule. After the performance we accepted an invitation to the terrace of the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry, where prof. Holý worked and where we had the unique chance to see his study.

After the performance we accepted an invitation to the terrace of the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry, where prof. Holý worked and where we had the unique chance to see his study.
The play about prof. Holý is very popular with audiences. Critics are not sparing with positive reviews either. We reported on how the play came about in the article The Neuron Endowment Fund supported the creation of the original play The Elegance of the Molecule.
The significance of prof. Holý is summed up by his collaborator and chair of the Scientific Board of the Neuron Endowment Fund, Pavel Hobza: "Antonín Holý is without doubt one of the greatest figures of Czech and world science of the second half of the 20th century. His diligence and persistence resulted in the creation of the most successful drugs against HIV, which halted the threatening catastrophe of the AIDS epidemic in the 1990s. His discoveries have saved and continue to save the lives of more than 50 million people all over the world."
