Monika Vondráková is among the Czech Republic's TOP women

According to the Hospodářské noviny survey, Monika Vondráková is among the Czech Republic's TOP women. We thank the jury for supporting the Neuron Foundation's work and for including her among the finalists in the TOP woman of the public sphere category.

In 2009, from her position as PR and marketing director of the company RSJ, Monika Vondráková came up with the idea of founding an endowment fund to support Czech scientists. Karel Janeček liked the idea so much that the Karel Janeček Endowment Fund for the Support of Science and Research came into being, where she served as director from the start. In 2013 she proposed founding the Neuron Foundation in order to open the work up to more patrons. The original fund ceased to exist through a merger and Monika went on running the fund as executive director and board member. She subsequently took on the role of chair of the board; she is one of the Neuron Founders and leads the fund to this day.
