Patron, Board of Trustees, Neuron Founders
Monika Řasa Vondráková and Jaroslav Řasa
“The important thing is not to be afraid and to try new things.”
Monika Vondráková
Monika Vondráková is a co-founder, the director, the chair of the board of trustees and a patron of
Nadace Neuron. Under her leadership Neuron has become a prestigious foundation that has already
honoured 131 figures from the world of science, distributed 150 million crowns in
support of it, carried out 13 scientific expeditions and received a further 100 million
crowns for its endowment from the patron Dalibor Dědek. At the same time she is vice-president of
the Czech-German technology investment group ABRA Holding. She considers it essential to keep Czech
scientists in the Czech Republic, because they play a crucial role in the development of our
country.
Monika Vondráková was there when Neuron was founded and has led it from the start. She enjoys
seeking out the company of inspiring people, finding talent and connecting it with excellent
scientists and businesspeople. She likes movement, dancing, the mountains, nature and her border
collie Elegant Lady.
Jaroslav Řasa
The founder of ABRA Software, one of the largest Czech producers of enterprise information systems.
Like Tomáš Baťa, he believes that business and work are the path to the development of human values
and of civilisation as a whole, and he considers work with students to be crucial. That is also why
he significantly supports activities in education. As a patron, he wants to use Neuron to motivate
talented young scientists, which is why he makes their childhood scientific dreams come true.
