Barbora Slavíková Literová

A Czech journalist long associated with popularising travel, geography and the
discovery of the world through magazine writing. She comes from Ústí nad Labem.
She grew up professionally in the newsroom of Koktejl magazine, where for many
years she worked closely with its co-founder, the writer Josef Formánek, and
where she later took over as editor-in-chief. Under her leadership the magazine
developed its tradition of reportage journalism focused on cultures, nature and
human stories from all over the world, while strengthening its presence in the
digital space. In 2025 she took charge of travel content at the Vltava Labe
Media publishing house and became editor-in-chief of the Czech edition of the
legendary National Geographic magazine. In her work she emphasises credibility,
authenticity and telling the world's stories well. She has long contributed to
the development of Czech travel and geographical journalism and is the co-author
of several books.
