Nomination for the main Neuron Award 2026

Who nominates:

Nominations are submitted by researchers, academics or research organisations. A scientist may not nominate themselves for a Neuron Award

Nomination deadline:

Nominations are open and have been extended until 30 April 2026.

Nomination conditions

With the Neuron Award we honour exceptional scientists who, through a discovery or through long-term work, have contributed fundamentally to the development of science, strengthened the name of the Czech Republic and are an inspiration and a model for the research community.
The laureate of the main Neuron Award is decided by the scientific board and by the international scientific board of Nadace Neuron.
Scientists born in the Czech Republic (or in Czechoslovakia) may be nominated for the main award if they graduated from a Czech university and now work in Czechia or abroad — and in the latter case they must maintain regular contact with institutions in the Czech Republic, in the form of lectures or other work or research activities.
At least two letters of recommendation in English are required.
Scientists can receive the Neuron Award in these fields: mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, medicine, computer science and social sciences.
The award comes with a personal financial prize of CZK 1,500,000.
