Who nominates:

Nomination deadline:
Nominations are open and have been extended until 30 April 2026.
Nomination conditions
- With the Neuron Award we honour exceptional scientists who, through a discovery or through long-term work, have contributed fundamentally to the development of science, strengthened the name of the Czech Republic and are an inspiration and a model for the research community.
- The laureate of the main Neuron Award is decided by the scientific board and by the international scientific board of Nadace Neuron.
- Scientists born in the Czech Republic (or in Czechoslovakia) may be nominated for the main award if they graduated from a Czech university and now work in Czechia or abroad — and in the latter case they must maintain regular contact with institutions in the Czech Republic, in the form of lectures or other work or research activities.
- At least two letters of recommendation in English are required.
- Scientists can receive the Neuron Award in these fields: mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, medicine, computer science and social sciences.
- The award comes with a personal financial prize of CZK 1,500,000.
