On working in business and in the non-profit sector, on courage and efficiency, on success in philanthropy. Monika Vondráková, chair of the board of the Neuron Foundation, summed up her professional path in a new episode of the Jobs-cast podcast. "My motto is that it is important not to be afraid and to try new things, to be brave. To think a step ahead, perhaps more," she says in the interview with Milan Fořt.

Over 45 minutes Monika Vondráková recalls the history of the Neuron Foundation, which she has approached with a business mindset from the start. As she says, the important thing is to build a strong marketing brand. "You always have to build on values. Only the product and the target group differ — and you have to know that group, connect with it and give it what it needs," she explains.
At the same time she adds that working for a non-profit organisation is in many ways more demanding than working for a corporation: "Helping from within a corporation is easier, because it generates profit and has enough money. But the non-profit sector consumes resources and has none to spare. That is why everything has to be done as efficiently as possible and one person has to cover far more activities, which is demanding," Monika Vondráková stresses.
And the Neuron Foundation is managing it. For twelve years it has been raising the prestige of scientists in the Czech Republic, popularising the results of their work and developing modern patronage under the leadership of Monika Vondráková, who founded the fund and has led it from the start.
